This cabinet incorporates all my favorite features of a Ming-style piece, such as the table edge & bead pattern, mitered joinery all around aligned to miters on the framed cabinet doors and framed table-top, and the strong, structural supports incorporated throughout the body. The cabinet is finished off with solid-brass hardware.
Still offering a clean design, the hidden joinery somewhat buried in the wood-grain patterns will make themselves seen through the inter-connected symmetry and aligned angles, resulting in a strong, but subtle look rarely seen in western furniture.
Finished with layers of natural oil, resin and beeswax: waterproof, non-toxic, anti-bacterial. This finish is easy to restore & refresh simply by wiping on a thin coat of the natural finish. The surface will harden with age and polish with use.
